Core Values
The mission and commission of the
church, which is His Body, is to proclaim the message of reconciliation
(2 Cor. 5:14-21) and endeavor to make all men see what is the
Dispensation of the Mystery (Eph. 3:8, 9). In this, we should strive to
reach those in foreign lands, where Christ is not yet named. (Rom.
15:20; 2 Cor. 10: 16)
1. ALL SCRIPTURE IS GIVEN BY
INSPIRATION OF GOD
The Scriptures of the Old and New
Testaments, are verbally inspired of God and are inerrant in the
original writing, and that they are the supreme and final authority in
faith and conduct. (2 Tim. 3:15-17 1 Thes. 2:13; 2 Peter 1:21) In the
presentation of the Word, it is to be "rightly divided" as set forth in
2 Tim. 2:15.
2. THE ONE TRUE GOD
The one
true God has revealed Himself as the eternally self-existent "I AM," the
Creator of heaven and earth and the Redeemer" of mankind. He has further
revealed Himself as embodying the principles of relationship and
association as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Deut. 6:4; Ex. 3:14; (Isa.
43: 10) 11; John 10:30; 1 Tim. 2:5; Eph. 4:4-6)
3. THE
DEITY OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST
The Lord Jesus Christ is
the eternal Son of God, being true God and true man. The Scriptures
declare:
a. His eternal existence before birth (John 1: 1; 9:58;
Phil. 2:5-11)
b. His virgin birth (Matt. 1:23; Luke 1:31,35)
c.
His sinless life (Heb. 4:15; 7:26; 1 Peter 2:22)
d. His miracles
(Luke 7:22; John 2: 11)
e. His substitutionary work on the cross (I
Cor. 15:3; 2 Cor. 5:21)
f. His bodily resurrection from the dead
(Matt. 28:6; Luke 24:39; 1 Cor. 15:4)
g. His exaltation to the right
hand of God (Acts 1:9,11; 2:33; Phil 2:9-11; Heb. 1:3)
4.
THE FALL OF MAN - TOTAL DEPRAVITY
Man was created good
and upright. God said, "Let US make man in our image, after our
likeness. "
God created man with a mind so he could know God.
He created man with emotions, so man could love God.
He
created man with a will so man could choose to obey God.
Adam, by
voluntary transgression, fell and thereby incurred not only physical
death, but also spiritual death, which is separation from God. Since
then, all mankind by nature are dead in trespasses and sins and can not
save himself, but must trust in the living God, completely. (Gen.
1:26,27; 2:17; 3:6; Rom. 3:9-12 5:12-19; 7:18; 10:3)
5.
THE SALVATION OF MAN
God justifies ungodly sinners by
His Grace, upon the basis of the shed blood of Christ, on the cross.
This complete salvation is given as the free gift of God, by faith,
apart from man's works. (Rom. 3:24-28; 5:1-9; Eph. 2:8,9; Tit. 3:5)
Man's only hope of redemption is through the shed blood of the Lord
Jesus Christ.
a. Faith response to Salvation:
* "Believe
on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved" - Acts 16:31
*
"If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart
that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved" - Rom. 10:9
* "For by Grace, you have been saved through faith, and not of
yourselves, it is a gift of God" - Eph. 2:8
b. Evidence of
Salvation:
* Inward evidence: "The Spirit Himself bears witness
with our spirit that we are the children of God" - Rom. 8:16.
*
Outward evidence: "That you put on the new man which was created
according to God in righteousness and true holiness" - Eph 4:24.
c. Scriptural assurance of Salvation:
* "Therefore, if anyone is
in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold,
all things have become new. " 2 Cor. 5:17
* "But as many as
received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to
those who believe in His name: John 1: 12
6. ETERNAL
SECURITY
Eternal security is the confidence that every
born again believer has perfect, complete, eternal salvation in Jesus
Christ. (Rom. 8:28-30; Eph.1:3-11; John 10: 29-30; John 3:36; John 5:
24; 1 John 5:11-12; John 17:3)
7. BAPTISM INTO THE BODY
OF CHRIST
All saved persons have been baptized into the
Body of Christ by the Holy Spirit - at the moment of salvation. This
divine baptism identifies us with Christ in His death, burial and
resurrection. Therefore, in this dispensation, we believe that there is
no scriptural basis for the practice of water baptism for either
salvation or church membership. (Eph. 4:5; 1 Cor. 12:13; 1: 12-17; Col.
2:9-13)
8. RESURRECTION, ASCENTION, RAPTURE & SECOND
COMING OF CHRIST
After His sacrificial and vicarious
death on the cross for the sin of the world, He showed Himself alive by
many infallible proofs, and He ascended to the right hand of God as the
Man Christ Jesus, the one mediator between God and man. He is now
exalted at God's right hand and represents the believer as Advocate,
High Priest and intercessor. (Acts 1: 1 - 10; 1 Cor. 15:3-21; Gal. 2:20;
3:13-14; Eph. 1: 15-23; 1 Tim. 2:5; Heb. 7:21-25; 1 John 2: 1)
Jesus Christ was resurrected bodily from the dead, as the firstfruits, of all who will follow. There will be a resurrection of the just and unjust. The saved to everlasting glory and the unsaved to everlasting punishment. (2 Thes. 1:7-9; 2:16; Heb. 5:9; 6:2; Dan. 12:2; John 5:29; Luke 24:39-43; 1 Cor. 15:21; Rev. 20:11-15)
The "Catching away" of believers (the pre-tribulation Rapture) is described in 1Thes. 4:13-18; 1 Cor. 15:51-53; and Phil. 3:20, 21 and is called the Blessed Hope in Titus 2:13,14. Christ will return in the air and give a shout for the believers to come and those who are "dead in Christ" and "we who are alive" will be caught up to meet the Lord in the air. Thus we will always be with the Lord.
The Second Coming of Christ will take place at the end of the
Tribulation, where His feet will touch the Mount of Olives and he will
reign over Israel and the world for 1,000 years. (Zech. 14:4,9; Acts 1:
10, 11; Rev. 19:11-16; 20:4-6)
9. THE INDWELLING MINISTRY
OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
The Holy Spirit is the third person
of the Trinity, who convicts the world of sin, of righteousness and of
judgment and who regenerates, baptizes, indwells, enlightens and
empowers the individual believer. (John 16:8; Titus 3:5; 1 Cor. 12:13;
Eph. 1: 13, 17, 18; 3:16)
Sanctification is the process whereby the Holy Spirit sets us apart
for a holy purpose. The Believer must rely on the Holy Spirit for growth
in holiness and godliness, by reckoning daily upon the fact of his union
with Christ's death & resurrection. (Rom. 12:1,2; 1 Thes. 5:23; John
17:17 , Rom 6:1-13 Gal. 2:20)
10. THE CHURCH AND ITS
OPERATION
In the present dispensation of the Grace of
God, there is only one Church which is called the Body of Christ. It is
composed of all the saved and has its historical beginning with the
raising up of the Apostle Paul, (Rom. 11: 11; 1 Cor. 12:12, 13, 18, 27;
Eph. 1: 22,23; 2:18,22; 3: 1 -11; 4:12; Col. 1: 18, 24, 25)
The enemy of the Church, the Body of Christ is Satan, who is a living, personal and active devil. (2 Cor. 2:11; Eph. 2:2; 1 Pet. 5:8,9; Rev. 12: 10; 20: 10)
The gifts necessary for the ministry of the Body of Christ are those enumerated in Eph. 4:7-16, Rom. 12:3-8, and 1 Cor. 12:8-11. Of these, the offices of apostle and prophet, as well as the sign gifts done by them, are no longer in operation today.
The Lord's Table, as revealed through the Apostle Paul in 1 Cor.
11:23-26, is for members of the Body of Christ to observe "until He
comes." (1 Cor. 10: 16-21)
Through Christ's death, believers should
experience victory from the slavery to sin by obedience to Rom. 6:6-11,
but we deny that man's sinful nature is eradicated during this life,
thus we still sin. (Rom. 6:6-14; Gal. 5: 16-25)
11. THE
FINAL JUDGMENT OF UNBELIEVERS
There will be a final
judgment in which the wicked dead will be raised and judged according to
their works. Whosoever is not found written in the Book of Life,
together with the devil and his angels, the beast and the false prophet,
will be cast into the lake of fire, where they will suffer everlasting
punishment. (Rev. 20:11-15; 19:20)
